2017 Kia Optima Hybrid is one of Kia's first steps towards achieving its 5-year green car program, aiming at achieving industry leadership among green vehicle by 2020. Unveiled at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, it offers impressive practicality and fuel economy.

2017 Kia Optima Hybrid is powered by a new 154 horsepower, 2.0-liter direct-injection four-cylinder engine, plus a 38-kW electric motor. It makes a total hybrid system output of 193 horsepower at 6000 rpm. The latest Optima Hybrid comes with a more powerful 1.62-kWh lithium-polymer battery pack that is placed entirely underneath the trunk. The engine is partnered to a six-speed automated manual transmission and is estimated to boast an impressive fuel economy of 42 mpg combined.
